The ABPS Intra-Departmental eBike Patrol Instructor Course prepares experienced law enforcement officers and approved public safety personnel to serve as certified in-house eBike patrol instructors for their own agency.

This 24-hour instructor certification program is designed for agencies that want to develop a consistent internal training system for eBike patrol operators, refresher training, remedial instruction, and annual rider proficiency evaluations.

Upon successful completion, graduates receive an ABPS Intra-Departmental eBike Patrol Instructor Certification, authorizing them to conduct agency-specific eBike patrol operator training and in-service refresher courses within their department.

Prerequisites

Instructor candidates should have prior eBike patrol training, documented operational experience, and agency approval to attend.

Required prerequisites:

  • Current law enforcement officer or agency-approved public safety employee
  • Successful completion of the ABPS eBike Patrol Officer Course
  • Minimum of 100 hours of documented police eBike patrol operational experience after completing the basic course, or equivalent agency-approved experience
  • Agency approval to attend as an instructor candidate

Important Certification Limitation

This certification is designed for intra-departmental training only.

Graduates are authorized to conduct agency-specific eBike patrol operator training, refresher training, remedial instruction, and rider proficiency evaluations within their own agency.

This certification does not authorize graduates to certify outside instructors, conduct ABPS instructor certification courses, or provide instructor certification outside their employing agency unless separately approved by ABPS.
